Unpretentious like its name, Pasta per Caso (literally meaning “pasta by chance”) is a small italian trattoria, selling a simple menu and offering a petite and very cozy outside dinning area. There’s just a few seats, 12 in total, and the place gets full easily, which means you will eat side by side with other guests while “Happy”, the dog, moves its tail and sniffs your feet. If you’re looking for good pasta, family style place to eat and relaxed or even romantic dinner, this is the place.
Opened very recently and being the only true italian option in Caye Caulker, what best place to satisfy your belly, and heart, with some home-made italian pasta. The owners, Anna and Armando, recently fell in love with Belize and this particular caye and decided to make it their home. After opening a retail business selling fresh pasta to local businesses and friends and being so successful, they decided to open this place, just by chance. Armando, from Verona, serves the customers at the tables and is a well of stories, adding to the pleasure of eating here. You can have a look at the kitchen (is just beside the dinning area) and see Anna preparing your meal. The menu is simple: only two pastas and two sauce options that change every night, for roughly BLZ$22 the dish. As for drinks, the ubiquitous Belikin is available, as well as New World red and white wines by the glass. The place serves only dinner, from 6 to 9pm, sometimes 10pm in busy season. Friday is the resting day, to allow Armando to play at the jam session in the sports bar next door.
